Rockford, IL...You can't think of Memorial Day weekend without thinking about the Bullshooter World Championships. 1998 marks the 13th year Arachnid, Inc. has sponsored this grand finale to their Bullshooter Tour. The $250,000 Tour began in September with their first Bullshooter Regional taking place in Tampa, FL. Other Regionals were held in West Virginia, Louisiana, Texas, New York, North Carolina, Ohio, Minnesota, Georgia, Connecticut, Washington, and two in Iowa. Several international qualifiers were also held around the world. Now the Tour is getting ready to climax in Chicago, Illinois, May 22-25, 1998 at the Hyatt Regency O'Hare.
Arachnid Sponsors $100,000 Finals!
Cash prizes, trophies, and gifts which total over
$100,000 will be up for grabs over the weekend in 12 main events plus
a Top Gun Warm-up event on Friday night. The Top Gun Final competiton
will feature a men's and women's division with $15,000 in prize money
sure to heat things up in the preliminary Friday Warm-up. There will
be an impressive 205 Galaxy English Mark Dart Games on hand for the
Finals all weekend.
12 Main Events Over The Weekend!
Players are practicing in anticipation of
Bullshooter XIII and the excitement is mounting as time gets closer
to the big event. There are 12 main events and 4 pro events. The pro
classified players are restricted to pro events only, leaving the
field wide open in the open events. The main events include Men's
Doubles, Women's Doubles, Mixed Cricket, Doubles Cricket, Men's
Singles 501, Women's Singles 501, Mixed Triples 701, Pro Singles 501,
Pro Doubles Cricket, Pro Mixed Cricket, and Pro Men's Doubles.
Players that have a qualifying certificate are eligible to play in
four main events over the weekend. For the women that don't place in
the top 16 in Women's Doubles and/or Women's Singles, there is a 2nd
Chance Women's Singles event. The Top Gun warm-up event and 2nd
Chance Women's Singles event can be played in addition to four main
events.
$15,000 Top Gun Warm-up!
The annual Top gun Shootout is a Friday warm-up
event that players have pre-qualified throughout the season at either
their operator's location or at a Bullshooter Regional. It's a
Cricket Singles event for $5,000 first place prize money in the men's
division and $2,000 for the first place in the women's division. The
Bull Pen will be packed for the showdown! Only the strong survive!
It's an event you won't want to miss with the highest single pay-out
ever awarded in soft-tip darts!
International Events!
The best players from all over the world come to
represent their country and compete for top money. On Friday night, a
two-person international team event, in both men's and women's
divisions, will start at 7 p.m. Then on Sunday, an international
parade of teams starts off the coveted International Cup Challenge.
The players are introduced and presented medallions and the play
begins in a 501 DI/DO competition. The proud winning team's names
will be engraved on the Traveling World Trophy. The German team,
winners of last year's competition against 10 countries, will be
defending their title. Last year Austria, Germany, Switzerland,
Spain, Holland, Slovenia, Mexico, Canada, Belgium, and the U.S.
competed for the Cup.
Annual Miss Bullshooter Competition!
This year, for the eighth year in a row, 12 Miss
Bullshooters will be competeing in the Bull Pen at 7p.m. on Friday
night wearing swimsuits! The women are monthly winners from entries
submitted by English Mark Darts operators from around the country. As
customary, it will be standing room only as the beautiful women
compete in a 301 single elimination event and their sponsors and
friends cheer them on! Every girl will receive $100 for just
participating plus $500 for first place, $250 to second, and $100 to
third.
A Fun-Packed, Exciting Weekend!
Arachnid sponsors dances on Saturday and Sunday
nights in the ballroom of the Hyatt Regency O'Hare. The players pack
the room where they enjoy unwinding from the tough competition.
Besides dancing and socializing there are dart games set up for those
enthusiasts who just didn't get enough during the day. The dances
feature 50's and 60's music on Saturday night and a video show with
all the latest music and classic videos on Sunday night. During the
day, many fun events are planned for that extra time between matches.
More money, more gifts, and more prizes will be given away in a Quick
Draw contest, a Chuck-A-Luck Dart contest, and a Touchdown Dart
competition. Anyone can play these fun events and they will be
available all weekend.
