League matters (except elections) shall be decided by a majority of the officers and captains/representatives present and voting. In meetings of the Board of Governors, one half of the captains and officers present will constitute a quorum.

A team captain/reprsentative is responsible for the conduct of the team members, the accuracy of the score sheets, ensuring team representation of all Board of Governors meetings.

PLAYING TEAM
Each playing team shall consist of a minimum of four (4) persons. Before each match series the two team captains will list their players in projected order, on the score sheet, and then reveal the list to each other (i.e., before singles, doubles, and team match series)

Once play has commenced there shall be no substitutions, unless both team captains agree. Each player may play in one to four games of the match, but may not play in more than one singles, one doubles 501 and one doubles cricket.

Three players shall be considered a legal but incomplete team. An incomplete team may participate in doubles and team matches, but will only be allowed to throw his/her turn (i.e. 1 against 2, 3 against 4).

MATCHES
Each match shall consist of:

  • Four 301 single games, double on double off, best of three
  • Two 501 double matches, free on double off, best of three
  • Two Cricket doubles matches, best of three
  • One 1001 team game, free on double off, single leg. (At least a leagal team, but can include all members of the team present.)

The singles game shall be played first (in order of the players listed), the doubles games next and then the team game last.

All games will be played on one dartboard unless agreed by both team captains to play on two boards.

SCORING
A win/loss point shall be given to each team for each of the nine games played. Should two incomplete teams play, there will bw three games of 301, one game of cricket and one game 1001-match for a total of five points.

TIME / DAY
Matches shall be scheduled to commence not later than 1930 hours, normally on Fridays, unless otherwise agreed by the opposingn team captains.

Not more than five minutes may elapse, except before team game, between games or legs. Team captains will be responsible for keeping the match moving as quickly as possible.

REPORTING RESULTS
The team captain is responsible for completing the score sheets and for its accuracy with their signature attesting to the same. Full names of all players shall be clearly entered on the sheets. The score sheet will be turned in to the league official by the winning team captain prior to the following Friday (unless the match has been rescheduled).

RESCHEDULING MATCHES
A match may be resceduled for a different day by mutual agreement of the team captains. It is the responsibility of the team captain requesting the change to contact the other captain and reschedule the match prior to the next week's play, and notify a league official.

The league recognizes that many of our members, active duty military or civilian employed on base, are frequently required to work abnormal hours. Any military commitment is considered a valid reason to reschedule a match. It is NOT the league officers responsibility to verify reasons for rescheduling. Flexibility is and must be the league's bottom line.

DEFAULT
A team shall be in default if it cannot field a full playing team or a legal but incomplete team within one-half hour of the scheduled time. If a time is not there at the starting time, the other team shall wait a minimum of fifteen (15) minutes.

In case of default, the opposing team will be awarded nine (9) wins and the defaulting team nine (9) losses.

PROTESTS
The team captains may only make a protest concernig the violationof any of the league rules.

Protests must be communicated to the league President within one week of the match by an explanation on the Result Report or otherwise in writing.

Pro test and the Rules commitee whose decision may be appealed to the Board of Governors, in which the teams involved shall have no vote, shall decide any possible penalties resulting. the Board of Governors may only override a decision of the Rules commitee on a majority of its members.

EQUIPMENT
Players shall provide thier own darts. Darts shall not exceed 30.5 centimeters (12 in.) in lenght or fifty grams in weight and consist of a recognizable point, barrel, and flight.

THROWS
Darts must be thrown by and from the hand.

A throw shall consist of three unless a leg or game is finished in less than three darts or unless the game being played calls for less than three darts.

Any dart that falls from the throwing hand and lands between th e throwing line and the wall of the dartboard cannot be rethrown. Any dart bouncing off or falling out of the board shall not be rethrown, except for throws for the middle to start a leg or game (diddle).

All throws shall be made from behind the throwing line and between an imaginary stright line extending either side from the throwing line.

Any participant involved in a game or leg may not practice on another board or the game board once the game has begun.

STARTING A GAME
All games are to begin by throwing for the middle (diddle) and the player or team captain of the the player who throws nearer the middle shall throw first in the game or leg of the game.

In league games, best 2 of 3, the loser of the first leg starts the second leg without a throw for the middle. If a third leg becomes necessary, the middle is thrown with the visiting team throwing first.

In tournament games, best 2 of 3, if the second leg is cricket, the middle must be thrown, first, by the loser of the of the first leg. If the second leg is 501, the loser of the first leg starts in the second leg without a throw for the middle. The middle is always thrown for if there is a third leg.

In doubles games the player throwing for the middle shall throw first for his/her side for the first leg.The other two players that did not throw for the middle the first leg will throw for the middle on the second leg, if necessary.

When throwing for the middle the dart must remain in the board in order to count. Additional throws may be made until the dart remains in the board. Should the dart of the second thrower dislodge the dart of the first thrower, a rethrow by the first thrower shall be made.

Rethrows shall be called for if the scoerer cannot decide which dart is nearer the middle, if both are in the double bull, or if both are in the single bull. If a rethrow is required, the order of the throwers will be reversed.

Either diddler may acknowledgr the first dart as a double or a single bull and ask for that dart to be removed prior to his/her throw.

SCORING I N GENERAL
For a dart to score it must remain in the board until the final dart has been thrown and the scorer acknowledges the score.

It is the responsibilty of the player to verify his/her written score before removing darts from the board. Errors in arithmetic shall stand as written on the scoreboard unless corrected prior to the next throw of the player or team whose scorer is in error.

CDA Bylaws

QUALITY POINTS
See APPENDIX A for the Q P structure and instructions.

For a QP to count, the darts thrown to get the QP must be in countable numbers. This is especially important in cricket.

Examples :

You hit a single 20, triple 20 and then double 19 and your opponent has already closed the 20's. You do not get credit for six marks because only three 20's are countable.

You only need 2 bulls to win the game and you hit a single bull and then a double bull. You do not get credi for three bulls because you need two to win. The third bull is not countable.

You have everything closed but are down 100 points and your opponent has closed the 20's so you hit two triple 20's. You do not get credit for 6 marks since you only need 5 (6 19's would count).

WITHDRAWAL
A team shall be considered to have withdrawn from the league as of the date the Board of Governors receive written notice from the team captain.

PLAYERS

A player may only play for one team in the league in any season and once they have played for that team they may not play for any other team, unless the team they have played for has withdrawn from the league.

Aplayer must be a paid member of the league to participate in a match with a team. Any games played by non-members may be declared a forfeit in favor of the opposing team.

To play for a team in a playoff or challenge match a player must have played for that team in at least two matches of the regular season.
