Started playing at home about 6 weeks ago and have been striving for a 180 on a daily basis ( some days are better than others ). As the weeks have passed my doubles have become more consistent and i always seem to throw better when im no concentrating on the aim, like switching to the T 19s I sometimes hit it before my eyes have even focused on it. In previous 180 attempts i would hit 2 T 20s and my third dart would end up practically in the wall and i was aware i had a mental obsticle to over come, however this knowledge did not improve my throw but highlighted my fault making a 180 a distant target. My 180 came at 12.30 am and i was not really throwing particulary well but then over a period of about 18 darts I just started crowding the T at the end of this run i hit with my first 2 darts and i got that flutter, in previous attempts at this stage i would try and throw my third dart in an attempt to keep the same line, however this time i waited just a moment longer and i could literally feel the flutter subside, I believe that before that third dart left my hand i knew it was going in. Ive gotta say ive probably never been so pleased with with my self getting my first 180 was an amazing feeling, most things that you work towards achieving gradually happen for you ie promotion, building something, decorating, but you never know when that 180 will happen for you. You can call me premature but i now feel ready to join a team and start playin competetive darts its given me a real boost. Well thats it, i have basked in my glory long enough and now its someone else's turn, until the next time ( cos the floodgates are now open ) fairwell and goodluck to you all. Ron . ( not that anyone will give a monkeys but i have taken about 30 pictures of the event and im scared to take the darts out the board ).
